The new Jaffa hotel of the Marriot’s chain The Luxury Collection Hotels & Resorts was recently opened in Jaffa south of Tel Aviv, a port city on the Mediterranean coast of Israel. The project, made by architect Ramy Gill and designer John Pawson, is a transformation of an old monastery and hospital into a luxury hotel.
The rehabilitation of the buildings has lasted 10 years and its result has been majestic. It has recovered all the architectural elements and has added contemporary elements, creating high contrasts between the old and the new.
